Beards for Bucks-Razorless for a Reason
A forensic interview is not just a fact-finding tool in an investigation. Often, it is the first incredibly challenging step in healing for a child victim of abuse and their family. CACs also help lay the groundwork for next steps in the healing process through behavioral health and specialized medical referrals and follow up with families in the coming weeks to ensure child victims are receiving the care they need to have their best chance to heal, survive, and thrive.
New Hampshire’s law enforcement officers already play an important role in the multidisciplinary teams at their local CACs, but every October since 2015, many of them have chosen to do more – by shaving LESS. They temporarily part ways with their razors (or dye their hair blue) and sport their new looks in the community to raise awareness and raise money.
Communities depend on the work of CACs – and CACs and the children they serve are depending on the community. .
